Mattie G II Weekend's Fishing Reports

  5/22/2011        Beautiful day! We were blessed with light winds and almost no wave action at all. We took the Carson Lee party out for a full day bottom fishing trip. We did manage to find a couple of mahi on the way out. We had plenty of action all day long, triggerfish, grunts, bank bass, and a nice red grouper. There were black sea bass everywhere! We could not get away from them with many of fish in the 2 –3 pound class TWO AT A TIME! However, with the season closure we had to put them all back. Oh well that’s fishing…June 1st is just around the corner, and we know where they live, so come and join us for some great black sea bass action.  Most of the fleet had mixed bags of mahi, blackfin tuna, and wahoo. The fishing is great in Morehead City so make plans now to come on down and join in the fun!

  5/21/2011     Take A Kid Fishing!  As part of the Hillsborough Sport Fishing Club we took a great group of kids and their chaperone fishing on Saturday. Bluefish and spanish mackerel were the focus of the day! The weather was great, light seas and sunshine and plenty of action to keep everyone busy and smiling.
